D – Dissemination

D – Dissemination

The aim is to plan, implement and monitor over time the effectiveness of communication actions taken care of within the EFFIGE project and their penetration both at a local, national and European level.

The action of circulation provides a list of the main instruments used within the EFFIGE project for the disclosure of the contents and products at all levels: local, national and European. Each partner has to implement and periodically update several activities.

  • D.1.1 – Web site

The web site is the place in which all the project contents will be published, starting from the technical articles, news items, contents and photographs of the events of the individual partners, and anything that is expressly organised for the EFFIGE project, including appointments planned in the mid-term and any that are dedicated to concluding the project itself.

All the documents and updates will be uploaded on the web site and made available in both Italian and English, in accordance with the international standards of the W3C, to guarantee access to people with disabilities. The web site will remain online for at least three years after the project has been concluded.

  • D1.2 – Circulation strategy

Assofond, the Sant’Anna school of Pisa and Enea are in charge of the circulation strategy.

The main events planned are:

  • Mid-term conference in Milan, December 2019

  • Final conference in Pisa, June 2021

Each partner must write a technical article that describes the results of the project: all the documents produced will then be published on an international trade magazine.

  • D.1.3 – Communication plan

Within the eighth month of the project, each partner in the sector will develop a communication plan for the disclosure of the results of EFFIGE among the local authorities, the local community, the trade associations, the SMEs and the regional and national institutions.

Assofond defines a minimum number of activities to be completed in each communication plan, including:

  • A press conference with newspapers and media to disclose information about the project to the local communities
  • The participation in local or regional events, organised by other organisations that are not involved in the EFFIGE project
  • The organisation of an event that involves the companies and organisations in each sector with regard to the progress of the project.

In addition, a pamphlet will be designed on the project, dedicated to companies, to disclose the results that have emerged and the instruments defined (300 copies in Italian, plus a PDF file in both Italian and English).

  • D.1.4 – Social networking

Two social channels will be opened, a public page on Facebook and a public page on LinkedIn to divulge information on the project on a wider scale and to assure a solid presence on the Internet: Assofond will take care of updating the Facebook page while SSUP will do the same on LinkedIn.

Enea will participate in and publish contents on the main blogs specialised in the topic.

  • D.1.5 – Manifesto on company notice board

A manifesto of the EFFIGE project must be displayed in strategic places and accessible to the public, in the offices of all the partners, and must be in both English and Italian.

In the first six months, the partners of the project will work to create the image of the project in various specific contexts and the information material to be sent to the parties concerned. The main promotional materials in this phase will be the logo and pamphlets. This task will also involve the production of posters regarding the project, a roll-up banner, a model with slides and other appropriate promotional material to be used to divulge information on the project. The main communication materials will be published in both English and Italian.

  • D.1.7 – Media

The publications will be made at local, national and international level. Periodic articles will be published on local newspapers and the local TV stations to inform the community about the EFFIGE project. Press releases will be sent to the daily papers and national trade magazines.

  • D.1.8 – Project brochure and pen drives

The project brochure is a short document that describes the EFFIGE project and will be handed out during the dedicated events.

Upon conclusion of the project, a pen drive will be produced and handed out to all participants at the final conference and all stakeholders involved in the operational actions.

  • D.1.9 – Layman’s report

The Layman’s Report will describe the activities and the results of the project and will be prepared in both Italian and English; it will be produced on paper and in electronic form at the end of the project, and will be available on the EFFIGE web site. The Layman’s Report will be published before the final conference.

This action aims at identifying previous and present projects on the project issues such as PEF (in specific) and environmental footprint (more generic), life cycle approach, environmental performance of organizations and its measurement, communication and avoiding greenwashing practices, environmental claiming, etc. in order to identify methodologies and tools that can be integrated and promoted in EFFIGE activities.

Network activities will be carried out towards the partners of projects and platforms that have more connection with EFFIGE project.

Examples of platform interesting to be taken into account in the Networking Action are the following:

  • Water Footprint Network. The Water Footprint Network is a non-profit foundation under Dutch law.

  • Global Footprint Network. Global Footprint Network is a non-profit organization that provides tools and programs that can help countries to thrive in a resource-constrained world.

  • Rete Italiana LCA (Italian network on LCA). Main activities are related to the promotion of LCA methodologies at national level, the exchange of experiences and networking.

The selection of the reference projects will be carried out considering first of all projects funded by LIFE programs or other programs, as FP7 or H2020. The criteria for assessment will be:

  • aims and scope of the project;

  • project topics;

  • tools and methodologies implemented;

  • project’s results (only for projects completed);

  • fields involved and stakeholders involved.

After this first phase, a list of projects and networks selected and the references to contact to initiate and exchange of experiences will be carried out.

A mailing list will guarantee a continuous updating of current experiences; through this tool the EFFIGE results will be effectively disseminated among relevant stakeholders and with a high degree of interest in the life cycle approach, measurement, claiming and communication of environmental performance and in specific PEF methodologies.

Where possible partners will organize ad hoc meetings with the beneficiaries of other projects to discuss possible synergies and problems encountered; these meetings could be organized also through conferences online. All actors involved in networking activities will be invited to attend the middle term and final conferences.
